EDIUS Single Sequence to Double Sequence Project!

ðŸŽ¬ How To Change EDIUS SINGLE To DOUBLE SEQUENCE Project!

Are you working on a project in EDIUS and need to switch from a single sequence layout to a double sequence timeline? This quick guide will walk you through the steps to easily switch your view and improve your editing workflow.

What is Single vs. Double Sequence in EDIUS?
Steps to Change from Single to Double Sequence in EDIUS:
Launch EDIUS and open the project you’re working on.
Make sure the timeline is active. If it's not visible, go to View > Window > Timeline.
This makes it easier to drag another sequence if needed. Navigate to View > Window > Bin.
Once both sequences are visible, you can resize or rearrange the panels to suit your workflow.
To preserve your layout, go to Settings > Save Workspace and name your custom view.
Why Use Double Sequence Mode?

EDIUS offers flexible timeline views:

  • Single Sequence Mode: Shows only one timeline sequence, suitable for simple edits.

  • Double Sequence Mode: Lets you view two sequences at once, perfect for complex edits like multicam or nested sequences.

  1. Open Your EDIUS Project

  2. Locate the Timeline Window

  3. Enable the Bin Window (Optional)

  4. Drag a Second Sequence to the Timeline Panel

    • Go to the Bin and find the second sequence you want to open.

    • Drag and drop it just above or below the current timeline area until EDIUS splits the screen.

  5. Adjust the Layout

  6. Save Your Workspace (Recommended)

  • Compare sequences side-by-side

  • Copy/paste clips across timelines

  • Work faster with nested sequences

  • Great for multicam or syncing footage

Tip: You can toggle between single and double sequence views at any time without affecting your actual edits.

By following these steps, you can take full advantage of EDIUS’s powerful editing capabilities and customize your workspace for maximum efficiency.
